- Position forefoot back from bench or platform with arms and body straight. Arms should be perpendicular to body. Keeping body straight, lower chest to edge of box or platform by bending arms.
- Push body up until arms are extended. Repeat.
Exercise FAQ
What should I focus on to keep good form?
Move with control and keep your torso stable. Use a range of motion you can own, and stop the set if you need momentum to finish reps. Think of it as controlled movement done with repeatable, clean reps.
How can I make this exercise harder without adding a lot of weight?
Slow down the lowering phase, add a brief pause in the hardest position, or increase total reps while keeping form crisp. Think of it as controlled movement done with repeatable, clean reps.
Does grip or stance matter?
Yes—small changes can shift what you feel and how stable you are. Pick the most controlled position and keep it consistent while you learn the movement.
